Okorocha was controversially declared winner of the Imo West Senatorial District election causing the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, to withhold his Certificate of Return.
Consequent upon the Certificate of Return’s seizure, the Imo governor dragged the electoral empire to law court. He has also been engaging in bitter exchange with the National Chairman of his party, the All Progressive Congress, Adams Oshiomole who he blamed for his ordeal.
Speaking to newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday, Okorocha, took a swipe at APC adding that it would be an exercise in futility if he approached President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene.
His word, “If you know the President well, you will know that he will never intervene as he will only keep mute. But whether President Buhari speaks or not, INEC should do the right thing by giving me my certificate of return.”
