Kiran and Jyoti Matharoo, the two Indian-Canadian sisters facing prosecution for blackmail, extortion and cyber bully on Wednesday failed to appear before the presiding judge, Justice E.A Ojo.
But an accomplice in the act, Babatunde Oyebode a.k.a Baudex, and his lawyer were in court. He entered the dock when the trio were called upon in case with file no. A/203/2016 at around 2.00pm.
The case which is between the Lagos State commissioner of police and the 3 defendants was at the instance of billionaire Femi Otedola.
Otedola petitioned the police accusing Kiran Matharoo, Jyoti Matharoo, and Babatunde Oyebode of blackmailing him with his alleged nude picture allegedly taken during a sexual act with the two sisters.
Responding to Justice Ojo’s request about the whereabouts of Kiran and Jyoti Matharoo, Baudex stated that he had no knowledge.
His response made the judge to issue a bench warrant for the girls and placed an order for their sureties to show cause.
Subsequently Justice Ojo adjourned the case to 1st of March 2017.
The absence of Kiran and Jyoti Matharoo in court has confirmed rumour that the famous escort girls have sneaked out of the country through the help of their numerous clientele mostly ‘big men’.
