In October 2016, following rumour that the super polygamist had passed away, he denied it saying he would continue to procreate and add to his harem.

“What I am doing is divine. It is an assignment and I will keep doing it till the end of time. I just want to advise those fighting against me to stop because such people are waging war against God, their Creator,” he told newsmen in a telephone conversation then.

One of the Masaba’s surviving children, who doubled as the deceased’s Personal Assistant, Alhaji Mutairu Salawudeen Bello confirmed his death to NAN.

“Baba told us that his time was up; he personally told me that he had completed his divine assignment and was ready to meet his creator.

“He warned us to shun adultery but said that we should marry our women because it is ‘Hallal’ (right), before Allah,” NAN quoted the Junior Bello as saying.
