Babangida Aliyu bereaved twice within fortnight, family count deceased lucky
Niger State former governor, Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu, lost two of his elder brothers within two weeks, Alh. Usman Aliyu Zinda and Mallam Umar Abubakar Maikano.
Alh. Zinda, a former staff of the Nigerian Television Authority died at the age of 67 on September 1st , 2016, at an Abuja hospital where he was on admission for an undisclosed illness.
The eldest of the Mu’azu, Mallam Maikano died at the age of 78 from stroke complication on Sunday evening while millions of Muslims on pilgrimage to Mecca were at Mount Arafat to mark the most important ritual.
“Alhaji Maikano was a very lucky person. Allah has deemed it fit to take him on Arafat Day. The day is so special that we know Allah will grant him mercy and Aljana Firdaus,” a statement from the family said.
