The Aviation Minister, Osita Chidoka on Wednesday was the cynosure of all eyes at the last Federal Executive Council(FEC) meeting after he turned up on a bicycle.
The former Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) boss entertained questions from journalists after the meeting and said he rode on a bicycle to the occasion to promote the idea that all modes of transport are essential while expressing gratitude to President Goodluck Jonthan for appointing him as minister.
He said, “The most important thing is that we have done our beat and we are moving on. The president has allowed the widening of democracy…,”
It would be recalled that the 44-year-old is former Foreign Affairs Minister, Chief Ojo Maduekwe’s brother-in-law as his elder sister is married to the ex-PDP National Secretary.
Maduekwe was at one time during ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo’s government transport minister. At that time, he advocated greater use of bicycles in Nigeria citing its health benefit.
However, he was later pushed into a ditch by a bus while he was cycling to work.
