Dr Momodu Sanusi Jimah, the Rector, Federal Polytechnic Auchi in Edo State, has spoken of the success the institution recorded in its fight against the menace of sex-for-mark.
Jimah in an interactive session with journalists ahead of the institutions convocation ceremonies said the school authority is confronting sex-for-mark head on and has recorded appreciable result in its pursuit of consigning the vile act to history.
He said, “The issues of sex for marks and sorting of lecturers are no longer there because recently, we have four cases on my table where four lecturers have reported students who attempted to influence them and the students on their own expelled themselves because they were invited to appear before a panel. For the first time in the history of this school, four students were reported by lecturers for trying to influence them. The issues of sex for marks, higher grade have been put to an end. We have achieved not less than 95 per cent of that.”
