Atiku tells court 5 reasons he should be declared winner in petition

The detail of petition of the defeated presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar seeking the election tribunal to declare him winner of the February 23 presidential poll has surfaced.

The petition was filed on Monday before the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja against the Independent National Electoral Commission, President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressive Congress as the first to the third respondents, respectively. said it sighted the complaint, claiming in it, Atiku was asking the court to upturn the declaration of Buhari as winner by INEC and instead declared him winner.

The former Vice President in the petition, according to the online medium, hinged his demands on five reasons including alleged non qualification of Buhari to run for the election.

Atiku also claimed he defeated Buhari with 1,615,302 votes.

The paper wrote: “The petitioners stated in their 139-page petition that “from the data in the 1st respondent’s (INEC’s) server…the true, actual and correct results” from “state to state computation” showed that Atiku polled a total of 18,356,732 votes to defeat Buhari whom they said scored 16,741,430 votes.”
