APC Govs agree on congress

After yesterday’s meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and governors of the All Progressives Congress on tenure elongation of the National Working Committee, NWC, which ended in deadlock, the party today appeared to have taken a position and resolved the issue.

Buhari had frowned on the elongation citing its contravention of Nigeria’s constitution and the party, and called for congress, a position that was out of sync with views of most of the 21 governors elected on the party’s platform.

APC governors were said to have backed down on their earlier position today. However,  prior to the resolution, on Tuesday the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun constituted a 10-man committee headed by Plateau State governor to resolve the issue.
