The Lagos State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Akinwunmi Ambode joined several other party faithful in his campaign train to Apapa during the week.
The train was led by the incumbent governor of the state, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola.
Presenting the APC’s candidate to the mammoth crowd, Gov. Fashola said Ambode, a retired civil servant, worked with him for six years before his voluntary retirement from service describing him as a tested and trusted hand.
He therefore urged residents of the community to turn out en masse and vote massively for him and the party in the forthcoming election, adding that the governorship aspirant is a brilliant person and has age on his side.
The governor enjoined Lagosians of voting age to ensure they collect their permanent voting card (PVC) and vote wisely.
In his speech, Ambode thanked people for their overwhelming supports, vowing to sustain the infrastructural and economic developments currently witnessed in Lagos State if elected.
The state party chairman, Chief Henry Ajomale hailed the leadership quality of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the party national leader has an eye for discovering dynamic individuals with great potentials.
He said, “Lagos has been lucky to have young and brilliant people at the helm of affair. Asiwaju produced Fashola who did not disappoint and now Akin Ambode, an educated, experienced young man with a lot of energy and zeal to consolidate on the present achievements of Governor Fashola.”
