There has been no love lost between Oba Adetunji and Gov. Ajimobi occasioned by the governor’s promotion of Ibadan high chiefs to beaded-crown wearing king.

On Thursday, Oyo monarchs were gifted cars by the state government with the exception of the Ibadan monarch at a function.

Speaking on the car gifts through his Director of Media and Public Affairs, Mr. Deola Oloko, Oba Adetunji revealed that Gov. Ajimobi in the last eleven months has withheld his salaries and that of the place staff, which are usually paid through the 11 local government areas in Ibadan adding that he was unfazed by the situation.

“We did not even know about the programme(the car gift event) until it was held,” the monarch said.
