The Lagos State Government has shared insight into the last moments of late immediate past Oyo State governor, Abiola Ajimobi.
In his tribute to late Ajimobi, Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi, hinted that he went under the knife for lung while hospitalised at the First Cardiology Consultant, Lagos where he died on Thursday.
In a new twist, the Lagos government said it was familiar with the situation of the ex-governor at the hospital, hinting Ajimobi had COVID-19 and leading up to his demise battled multiple organs failure.
The State Health Commissioner, Prof. Akin Abayomi, disclosed this via his official twitter handle, @ProfAkinAbayomi in two tweets.
He wrote: “We regret the death of immediate past Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajumobi who passed on today, June 25, 2020 at First Cardiologist Consultant; a private #COVID19 approved care facility in Lagos State. The former Governor died from multiple organs failure following.”
“Complications from #COVID19 infection. On behalf of #COVID19Lagos Incident Commander @jidesanwoolu and the entire #COVID19Lagos response team, we convey our heartfelt condolences to the family of the former Governor and the people of Oyo state. May his soul rest in peace.”
