AIT journalist, pregnant wife, 3 kids die in auto crash

A ghastly auto crash has claimed the life of a senior reporter with African Independent Television (AIT), Mr. Abdullahi Ibrahim, his three children and pregnant wife.

The unfortunate incident happened days to the late journalist’s daughter’s wedding already scheduled for next month.

According to reports, preparation for the wedding was in top gear.
On the fateful day, the would-be father-in-law who was in his late 50s was in the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) press centre Lokoja to share out the wedding invitation cards to his colleagues.

Thereafter, he proceeded on the journey of no return with his pregnant wife, and three children to his hometown of Ankpa, Kogi State. in respect of the wedding in his Peugeot 504 Salon car.

And according to reports, they all perished at Ojodu and Ochadamu communities along the Ajaokuta- Ayingba highway.

It happened that Ibrahim’s car was involved in head-on collision when trying to negotiate a bend as a Toyota Hiace belonging to a popular transport company was also trying to overtake him, and his vehicle collided with an oncoming vehicle.

It was gathered the late journalist had lost his first wife and another of his daughter about five years ago mysteriously.
