A behind-the-scene account of what transpired at the panel set up by Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), to investigate claim by an ex-MBA student of the institution, Ms. Monica Osagie, that she was sexually harassed by Professor Richard Akindele, has emerged.
Recall that Akindele, a Professor of Management Accounting at OAU, was sacked by the institution on the recommendation of the panel after finding him guilty as charged by Osagie, who released recorded conversation the duo had on phone online where he was heard asking her for five rounds of sex in return for mark.
The disgraced lecturer, according to New Telegraph, was said to have told the panel in his defence of his action that Osagie offered him sex in return for mark, adding that he had no interest in sleeping with her but was just playing along.
The paper quoted him as saying: “I have evidence and proof that she naked herself and harassed me sexually and I have a naked picture she sent to my WhatsApp contact, pressing that she wanted to have sexual intercourse with me. I have known this lady to be a bad behaved lady and as if she is a psychotic person.”
