The Presidential Task force on COVID-19 has raised concern about the prevalence of the ravaging virus in Kano.

Head of the Presidential taskforce in the state, Nasiru Gwarzo, while speaking on BBC Hausa Service at the weekend said the community transmission of the pandemic in the ancient city is alarming.

Gwarzo explained that that in recent time, eight out of every ten persons tested for the virus came out positive and called for deliberate efforts by way of ramping up compliance with measures in place to stem the tide and turn the corner.

“Before when about 100 samples are delivered, there are five to ten that are positive. But now, when 100 samples are returned, about 80 are coronavirus cases,” he said.
