7up Driver Arrested over Bank Robberies
A driver working for Seven-Up bottling company Plc has been arrested over several bank robberies that took place in Lagos State between March 2015 and March 2016.
The suspect simply identified as Johnson Chukwuma was arrested at his workplace at 7up head office in Ijora, Lagos, following a tip-off that he had been contracted to ferry rifles, ammunition and explosives by an armed robbery gang that was busted by the police in a sting operation while they(armed robbers) were about to carry out an operation around Seme.
Chuwuma’s arrest subsequently led to the arrest of other gang members, and the death of the kingpin, Toweki Joseph, a.k.a. TK(pictured) by the police during a shootout around Seme.
A notorious criminal, late TK was reportedly involved in the kidnap of the wife of the Deputy Managing Director of the Sun Newspaper, Steve Nwosu in their apartment in Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos State, and several bank robberies including that of two banks at 4th Avenue at Festac town last year’s October.
