Not less than seventy aides of the Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo have reportedly been moved out of Aso Villa by the presidency.
Their relocation was said to be in retribution for corruptly enriching themselves after the ownership of some properties abroad were traced to them, according to The Sun.
As per the paper, the affected aides who hitherto had their offices at the seat of power have been moved to a rented apartment outside the villa.
It wrote: “Some officials working with him (Osinbajo) were fingered in the purchase of some houses abroad especially the United States. It was learnt that in all, the VP has about 80 officials as aides.
“With the exception of a few, most of the aides were being paid salaries by agencies under the supervision of the Vice President’s office. Presidential sources disclosed that this was responsible for the decision to relocate over 70 officials working with the VP from Aso Rock villa to a rented apartment within the city as well as the issuance of the directive to seek President Buhari’s approval by certain agencies under the direct supervision of the VP.”
