22 3SC players hospitalized for food poisoning


Twenty-two players of the Nigeria National League side, Shooting Stars of Ibadan have reportedly been hospitalized for food poisoning.

“It has become imperative to intimate you about the treatment 21 players of the Shooting Stars that were seen up till about 11pm yesterday (Monday) in our Casualty Ward.

“The medical records showed that 21 of them had gastroenteritis out of food poisoning and were placed on treatment. A follow-up will be essential medically,” a letter signed by the Chief Medical Director of Ring Road State Hospital and made available to newsmen read.

The ugly incident, which happened on Tuesday has led to the indefinite postponement of the Group B1 match between 3SC and Bendel Insurance of Benin. The rescheduled match is the former’s last and it leads the league table with 28 points while Insurance has 26 point with another match on hand.
