Hundreds of All Progressives Congress protesters from Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, on Sunday afternoon stormed the residence of the state chairman of the party, Chief Henry Ajomale, to condemn the alleged imposition of Afolabi Ayantayo as the party’s flag bearer of the LCDA in the forthcoming local government election in the state.

The aggrieved party members turnout enmass in peaceful protests to the APC party chairman resident at GRA Ikeja, Lagos to show their immense anger over the imposition candidature of Ayantayo over Hon. JS Babatunde, who was announced by the committee, headed by Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi at the general APC primaries held at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

The peaceful protest was championed by Hon. Richard Osoyinpeju; a former council leader of Agege local government said, ‘”we are begging our party chairman, Ajomale, to please return Orile-Agege candidature in person of JS Babatunde who is the people’s choice’

Addressing the protesters at chairman’s GRA residence, Hon. Richard said that the turn-out protest is a peaceful move and they want to use the medium to begged the APC Party chairman to return their choice candidature and to let peace reign in the consistency of Orile-Agege.

In his words, ‘the Orile-Agege people are not violent people but the peaceful protest march is to call the party authorities to return our candidature, who is Hon. Johnson Sunday Babatunde, and that is the reason we all came out to plead and show our concern with the party chairman.’

He also sought the opportunity to debunked the speculated rumours circulating within the consistency and its neighborhood that Orile-Agege is in tumor over the candidature and the flag bearer ‘there is nothing like chaos in our consistency, we are peaceful people and loyal party members of the APC, all we want to stand with truth and make the people will prevail,’ he stated.
