A TV news presenter with IBC24 news broadcast in India, Supreet Kaur, on Saturday morning was live on air reading news when news of a deadly accident broke.
Kaur told the audience about the sad breaking news saying three people had died and two were injured in an SUV and truck collision in Pithora.
But while she was listening to a reporter giving details about the tragedy over the phone, Kaur began to think that her husband, might have been one of the victims having known he was in the area in a similar vehicle.
However, the demeanor of Kaur who has been with IBC24 for its entire nine-year history didn’t change as she kept reporting even as images of the vehicle and blurred photos of victims appeared on the screen.
“She was doing her job, and she kept on doing it with composure and without showing her emotions on air,” CNN quoted IBC24 editor in chief Ravi Kant Mittal as saying.
She reportedly broke down when her husband’s death was confirmed to her after the show when she went from the set to the newsroom.
Kaur and her deceased husband, Harshad Kawade had been married for about 18 months, Mittal said.
Viewers on social media were also full of praise for the way Kaur composed herself.
