Charges against Samuel Walson, the publisher of an online news medium based in Port Harcourt, who was charged with defamation alongside blogger Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo has been dropped.
The duo of Walson and the daughter of former Governor Omololu Olunloyo of Oyo State, earlier on Thursday, were admitted to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two civil servants as sureties by a judge of a Port Harcourt Magistrates’ Court, Alatunwo Elkanah Fubara.
But before their bail could be perfected, they were arraigned before Justice H. I. O. Shobar at the Federal High Court.
Along the line, the prosecution witness, David Abuo, pleaded with the court to drop Walson from the charges against him, which Justice Shobar granted, thereby absolving him from the charges read against him at the Magistrates’ Court.
However, Omololu-Olunloyo, who was the originator of the publication that led to defamation lawsuit founder and senior pastor of Salvation Ministries in Port Harcourt, Pastor David Ibiyeomie filed against the duo was docked.
Justice Shobar adjourned the case to April 10, 11 and 12, and ordered the detention of Omololu-Olunloyo.
Recall that Omololu-Olunloyo in a post on Instagram, said Pastor Ibiyeomie, and actress Iyabo Ojo are having affairs, and the Range Rover she drives, was bought for her by the pastor.
