Fourteen staff of Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State have been sacked over alleged certificate forgery.

ORIJO reliably gathered that the dismissal followed a staff audit carried out by the state government last year to ascertain the number of workers on its pay roll.

The affected workers cut-across all the various departments in the Local Government with Account department said to have the highest numbers of culprits.

ORIJO further learnt that some of the affected workers either forged Ordinary National Diploma or the Higher National Diploma certificates.

It was also gathered that the sacked workers had been in the service of the council between twenty and twenty five years with some on grade level 12 and above.

It was further gathered that the sack has sparked apprehension among staff of the council, particularly those who may be parading questionable certificates.
